Former Accra Hearts of Oak manager, Samuel Boadu has debunked reports suggesting that he has officially joined Kumasi-based Division Two side, Cornerstones FC.
On Monday, the Division Two side officially announced the appointment of the former Hearts of Oak coach as their stop-gap coach, expressing their excitement about his experience and tactical excellence that could positively impact the club’s fortunes.
However, speaking in an interview with Football Ghana, the young tactician played debunked the news. He stated that he is not joining a Division Two club, citing his impressive track record in the game and his previous tenure at a top club in Ghana.
“I have not signed for Cornerstone; I’m even surprised. No disrespect to the club, but I cannot join a club in Division Two. Everyone knows my pedigree in the game, and it can never be true. How can I leave a top club in Ghana and drop to the lower-tier.
Coach Samuel Boadu left Accra Hearts of Oak following a slow start to the 2022/23 season.
He made some of the best memories in his coaching career with the Accra-based club, winning one Premier League title, two FA Cup titles and two President’s Cup titles.
He is currently leading the national U-20 team as head coach. He was appointed as replacement for Coach Abdul Karim Zito.
