Albert Eonde is expecting a refreshed Hearts of Oak to perform strongly in their first five fixtures of the 2023/24 season.
The Phobians will start the campaign at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium against Real Tamale United, a side they failed to beat last season.
Next is a home game against Nsoatreman at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians will then travel on match day three to face newly promoted team Bofoakwa Tano FC before they host FA Cup champions, Dreams at the nation’s Wembley.
Another away fixture comes next against another newcomers, Heart of Lions in Kpando.
“You know I came here in the middle of the 2022/23 campaign but I have studied how the league is being played. For what I know is that there is no small game in the Ghana Premier League no matter which team you are playing against. The team can be big on paper, the name and everything but is a game of football,” Albert said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
“We are Accra Hearts of Oak so we will go in as the big side without in our opening game against RTU but we know is a top side. It is always a difficult game for us whenever we play RTU but we will go in for the three points.”
Albert will be desperate to end his lengthy goal drought next season. Despite joining the Rainbows as one of the best attackers from the Zimbabwean top-flight, the Cameroonian international struggled to settle in the Ghana Premier League last season.
