KF Egnatia’s Ghanian forward, Raphael Dwamena has passed away after suffering heart attack in the 23th minute of the game against FK Partizani.
The 28 year old had previous heart condition years ago but he refused to hang up his boots as he wanted to continue doing what he loved the most, playing football. He was without a doubt one of the best players in the Albanian Superliga and he was the league’s top scorer with 9 goals this season.
As reported, Dwamena collapsed again on the field in the 23rd minute of the first half during their game against Partizani and suffered a cardiac arrest and died on the way to Kavajë Hospital.
Raphael Dwamena appeared in 6 games for the Black Stars of Ghana.
He was called into the senior team as part of the 30-man squad for the 2017 African Cup of Nations but was dropped from the 23-man squad.
He made his international debut on the 11 June 2017 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia, where he scored a brace to mark the new era of youngsters being introduced into the national team.
