The Ministry of Youth and Sports has congratulated the Black Queens after qualifying for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Nora Hauptle’s charges lost 1-0 to Namibia in the second leg of the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Despite the defeat, they have qualified for the tournament, winning 3-2 on aggregate after beating Namibia 3-1 in the first leg.
In a statement released today, the Ministry commended the women’s senior national tea, on their achievement.
“Congratulations to the Black Queens for Qualifying to the next African Women’s Cup of Nations,” a statement by the Ministry said.
After missing the last two editions, the Black Queens have booked their ticket becoming the fourth country to do so after Morocco, Algeria, and South Africa.
