Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) member, James Kwasi Appiah has clarified that the IMC runs the day-to-day affairs of the club without a CEO.
He explained to ghanasportspage.com that the life patron of the club Otumfuo Osei Tutu II informed all stakeholders of handing the club’s administration work to the IMC and did not mention any Chief Executive Officer.
He stated that the IMC in that regard works for Otumfuo and thus urged Kotoko fans to give them maximum support in running the club.
“Otumfuo met us two days ago and never mentioned any names or has not even thought of anyone.” Kwasi Appiah told ghanasportspage.com.
“Otumfuo didn’t call just the IMC but all stakeholders and said for now IMC should be in charge, and then he will monitor us. So we the IMC are working for Otumfuo.
“Along the line, there will be mistakes even if there is the world’s best CEO in charge but the most important thing is no matter who is there because you love the club, you support the club in any form. If you feel something is not right, you can advise.” he concluded.
The 4-member IMC was appointed in July 2022 to take over the day-to-day running of the club after the dissolution of the Dr Kwame Kyei-led board and its management team.
The board includes former Ghana head coach, James Akwasi Appiah and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi who will serve as the Administrative Manager of the club, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, and head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
