Head Coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, Chris Hughton says the players want to give their best during the AFCON.
The four-time champions of Africa struggled against Namibia who have never qualified from the group stages of the AFCON before yesterday at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi with the game ending in a goalless draw.
Speaking after the game, Chris Hughton says the Black Stars players are eager to do well at the tournament.
“How far we can go depends on the performances that we can put in. One thing I know is that this is a group of players that want to do well. And if you have a group of players that desperately want to do well you never know what can happen.” He said.
The team will depart for Ivory Coast on Wednesday 10th January 2024 before playing their first game against Cape Verde four days later.
