Asante Kotoko announce the signing of experienced striker Fatawu Safiu on a two year deal.
The former Trelleborgs FF forward returns to the Porcupines for a second spell since departing the club in 2019.
Safiu enjoyed a sensational first spell, scoring 13 goals in sixteen appearances and led the lines in the team’s impressive run in the CAF Confederation Cup.
He won the best player and top scorer of the Normalization Committee’s special competition, which earned him a move to Sweden.
Speaking to the club’s website on his return, he said:
“I am very excited about this opportunity,” he said.
“Everyone knows Kotoko is the club that I support and as a youngster it was my dream to play for Kotoko and to get that opportunity twice makes me feel lucky and ready to do everything to help the team.”
