Former Black Stars player, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says Ghana is capable of beating Egypt in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Ghana would lock horns with the Pharaohs of Egypt on Thurday 18th January 2024. Ghana would have to beat Egypt in order to have a chance of qualifying to the round of 16 of Africa’s prestigious tournament.
Egypt surprisingly drew 2-2 with Mozambique in their first game while the Black Stars narrowly lost 2-1 to Cape Verde.
Speaking ahead of the crucial clash on Thursday, the former Black Stars midfielder, Agyemang Badu admits Egypt will not be a walkover for Ghana because both countries need points. However, he believes with the right mentality and start, the Stars can shine over the Pharaohs.
“Playing against Egypt will be a very crucial game. They drew against Mozambique and will now want the points against Ghana. The Black Stars also need to win against Egypt, but I think it will be difficult. It is a crucial game on Thursday, but I am very optimistic that with the right start and preparations, we can sail through against them.” He told Citi FM.
A loose for Ghana means it may be difficult for Ghana to qualify to the next stage of the competition.
