Accra Lions made a significant leap into the Premier League’s top four after clinching a remarkable 1-0 win against Bofoakwa at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sadat Seidu broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, connecting brilliantly to a cross from Bernard Kesse to seal the victory for the ‘Yen Nyina Dea’ in a closely contested encounter.
While Bofoakwa created opportunities, particularly in the first half, they lacked the cutting edge in the final third, denting their resurgence in the top flight.
Before kickoff, Ibrahim Tanko’s team was positioned in the top four, but their triumph over Bofoakwa propelled them above the Hunters into fourth place with 36 points, albeit trailing the top spot by seven points.
On the other hand, John Eduafo’s side slipped to 16th place with 26 points following their defeat to Accra Lions, maintaining a slim four-point gap above the bottom of the table.
