In a thrilling Ghana Premier League match-week 24 clash, Bechem United and Asante Kotoko battled to a goalless draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Bechem United welcomed goalkeeper Aziz Haruna Dari back into the fold, alongside Cameroonian import Gabriel Yenlep. Francis Twene and Clinton Duodu also made their return from injury, providing a significant boost to the home side.
For Kotoko, Danlad Ibrahim resumed his duties in goal, supported by youngster Rocky Dwamena, while Ivorian midfielder Serge Zeze remained sidelined due to injury.
The Porcupine Warriors started brightly, with Kalo Ouattara attempting a long-range effort early on, but goalkeeper Haruna Dari was equal to the task.
Bechem United threatened in the 25th minute as Emmanuel Annor unleashed a powerful strike, only to be denied by a fine save from Danlad Ibrahim, resulting in a wasted corner kick.
Moments later, Bechem United was awarded a penalty, but after consultation with his assistants, referee Imoro Osman reversed his decision, leaving the scoreline level at the break.
In the second half, both teams looked more composed, but clear-cut chances were scarce. Baba Yahaya came close for Kotoko with an effort from the edge of the box, while Emmanuel Abban tested the Kotoko defense with a well-struck shot, but Danlad Ibrahim once again stood firm.
Despite the efforts from both sides, the match concluded without a goal, extending Bechem United’s winless streak while bringing an end to Kotoko’s four-game losing run, although they remain winless in their last five matches.
