Kassim Mingle Ocansey, coach of Nations FC, exudes confidence in his team’s ability to secure the championship, should the opportunity arise.
Sitting just five points behind league leaders FC Samartex, the Abrankese-based club currently holds second place in the Ghana Premier League standings with 44 points, eyeing a historic league title in their inaugural season.
Amidst a stellar debut campaign, Mingle, alongside assistant Johnson Smith, has been instrumental in Nations FC’s success with effective tactical approaches. Despite narrowly missing out on victory in their recent encounter against Bofoakwa Tano, the team remains determined to close the gap at the top.
Coach Mingle underlined the team’s ambition, stating, “Everyone playing in the league has the ambition of winning it, so if the opportunity comes, we will win the league,” during an interview with Connect FM.
He emphasized the club’s dedication to success, attributing it to rigorous training, discipline, and motivation from the management, as well as the strong synergy and experience between himself and assistant coach Johnson Smith.
Noteworthy is the outstanding performance of striker Asamoah Boateng Afriyie, who has netted 10 goals in the league. With just two goals shy of the league’s top scorer, Stephen Amankona, Afriyie’s contributions have been pivotal to Nations FC’s success.
As Nations FC continues to make waves in their debut season, fans eagerly anticipate the possibility of witnessing their remarkable journey culminate in lifting the prestigious Ghana Premier League trophy.
