Bofoakwa Tano Football Club on Sunday evening defeated Dreams FC in Sogakope to reach the finals of this year’s MTN FA Cup.
The title holders suffered a shock elimination from the competition after losing 2-1 in an enthralling semi-final encounter which traveled beyond the 90 minutes.
Having secured a final spot, Coach Eduafo expressed excitement and declared the team’s readiness to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup in his post-match interview with StarTimes.
“It’s all joy. Am so excited and so happy. From my initial submission I said this is my fourth meeting with Dreams FC. The first meeting was when I was with Kotoku Royals. We beat them 3-0 at Dawu. The second time was when we played them in their half two months ago with Bofoakwa and we lost 3-1.
“Playing them again last week, I promised that it is either we share the points or one becomes a winner and today I came all determined to beat my father because it is time we also need to come up. Am so happy.”
ON AFRICA
“Why not? The dream of every coach is to play and get to the final, win the the final of course and get to Africa. Is also my dream as well to play in the final, win and go to Africa.
“From now we are going to prepare and probably meet Nsoatreman in the final as well as the five league matches left.”
The Ghana Premier League relegation battling side now find themselves on course for silverware, offering a tantalizing prospect of African adventure should they emerge victorious in the upcoming final against Maxwell Konadu’s side in June.
