Hearts of Oak, in response to what they deem as gross misconduct, has suspended midfielder Salim Adams indefinitely, Ghanasportspage.com can confirm.
The decision came after the player’s reported breach of discipline following their recent 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.
Adams, 21, allegedly sought permission from head coach Aboubakar Ouattara to visit his family in Kumasi before rejoining the team in Accra the next day after their game against Kotoko last Sunday. However, when the coach insisted he join the team bus immediately to Accra to prepare for their next game, Adams purportedly disobeyed and left camp without permission.
Despite Adams’ subsequent apology to the coach and the team, he remains suspended and has excluded from the squad for their upcoming match against Nations FC this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have agreed on a deal to release Salim Adams to Sudanese side, Al Hilal with the agreement with hinging on the player’s acceptance of the personal terms offered by the Sudanese giants. Once these terms are agreed, the transfer documents can be finalized.
Salim Adams’ contract with Hearts of Oak is set to expire at the end of the current season, making this potential move to Al Hilal a significant development in his career.
The midfielder has been a key player for Hearts of Oak, and his departure would be a notable change for the club.
