Asante Kotoko has made a significant move in the ongoing transfer window, reaching an agreement in principle to sign former Legon Cities winger Stephen Appiah Asare.
The former Tema Youth skipper joined Legon Cities during the second round of the season and featured in 14 matches during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors have been busy recruiting new talent after releasing 21 first-team players at the end of the previous season.
Appiah, 28, has caught the eye of Dr Ogum and the technical team at Asante Kotoko, leading to discussions about a potential move to the Kumasi-based club.
A lot of local media report that Kotoko has reached an agreement in principle with the winger and will now organize a medical at the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi before officially completing the move.
Appiah joined Legon Cities during the second round of the season and featured in 14 matches during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.
During his time with the Royals, he scored two goals and provided one assist. With his impressive performances, it’s no surprise that Asante Kotoko is keen to bring him on board.
The signing of Appiah is seen as a significant coup for Kotoko, who are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
The winger’s pace, skill, and experience will be valuable assets for the Porcupine Warriors as they aim to compete for major honors in Ghanaian football.
