Asante Kotoko has landed a major coup by securing the services of midfielder Emmanuel Antwi, who has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Porcupines, according to the club’s former spokesperson, Obed Acheampong.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who has a month left on his contract with Great Olympics, will see out his commitment before making the switch to Kumasi. According to sources, Kotoko outbid several Premier League clubs, including Hearts of Oak, Samartex, Legon Cities, and Nations FC, to secure Antwi’s signature.
Despite Great Olympics’ relegation to the Division One League, Antwi had an outstanding 2023/24 campaign, making 26 appearances and scoring six goals while providing five assists. His impressive form earned him multiple MVP awards, making him a highly sought-after target for several clubs.
However, Kotoko’s strong bid has convinced Antwi to join the Kumasi-based club, where he will look to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
The signing is seen as a major coup for Kotoko, who have strengthened their midfield with one of the league’s top performers.
