Ghanaian striker, Kofi Kordzi has advised the head coach of his former club Accra Hearts of Oak to take part of player recruitment for the upcoming campaign.
Kordzi, who played a vital role in helping the Rainbows secure both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup in 2021 touched on interference in the work of coaches at the Accra-based club during an interview on Friday.
He however, urged Coach Aboubakar Ouattara to take part of player recruitment for the upcoming campaign in a bid to drive the team back to their glory days.
“The coach must stand firm if not things will be difficult because the team is big. Is like being a father or the head of a family. Everyone will try to bring in their players. The coach should stand firm and choose his own players. He shouldn’t allow them to bring in players without his notice. I will urge him to stand firm and things will be better,” he told Accra-based Mothers FM.
He added: “I experienced that during Kim Grant’s time but he stood firm to make his own decisions in terms of player recruitment.”
Kofi Kordzi had two spells with Phobians before joining Legon Cities. His remarkable performance earned him a spot in the Ghanaian home-based national team, where he exhibited his talent during the 2023 CHAN tournament held in Morocco.
