Asante Kotoko has secured the services of highly-rated Sudanese defender Esmat Abdalhamid Mohamed from Al Hilal, further strengthening their defense.
The 21-year-old left-back, who has gained valuable experience at Al Falah SC and earned a call-up to Sudan’s senior national team, joins the Porcupines after passing his mandatory medical checks in Kumasi on Saturday afternoon.
Recommended by Sudan’s national coach and Kotoko’s technical director, Kwesi Appiah, Abdulhamid has risen through the ranks at Al Hilal Omdurman and is expected to bring his impressive skills to the Porcupines.
His signing is seen as a significant boost for Kotoko as they aim to rebuild their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
With Abdulhamid on board, Kotoko hopes to regain competitiveness in the league and make a stronger push for titles in the coming season.
