Asante Kotoko is set to secure a significant reinforcement for their midfield, with reports indicating the imminent signing of Emmanuel Antwi.
The move is aimed at fortifying the team’s midfield options ahead of the fast-approaching 2024/25 season.
According to sources, Emmanuel Antwi is scheduled to arrive in Kumasi tomorrow to undergo his medical examination, marking a crucial step towards his official integration into the Asante Kotoko squad.
The development follows successful negotiations between Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics, who have agreed to release the player.
The deal, which will see Antwi has committed to Asante Kotoko for three years, is expected to be formally announced by the club upon completion of the necessary procedures. The move is part of Asante Kotoko’s rebuilding efforts after a disappointing season that saw them finish in sixth place without any silverware.
As part of their restructuring plans, Asante Kotoko has already parted ways with eighteen players. Some of the remaining players may be loaned out, while others will be offered new contracts.
The signing of Antwi is expected to bolster the team’s midfield options and set them up for a stronger showing in the upcoming season.
