Samba O’neil has has revealed in an interview on Friday that he turned down an offer from Moldova to join Asante Kotoko.
The highly-rated center-back confirmed that he had received a bumper deal to join a club in Moldova during his days in Burkina Faso but decided to join the Ghanaian giants.
Samba has penned a four-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors and has already made his debut for the club.
Reflecting on his move to Asante Kotoko, the former Rahimo FC captain said: “I went to Dubai and Moldova…and I was supposed to go back but I know that Asante Kotoko is one of the best clubs in Africa. I know that I will get more offers than Moldova if I perform well at Kotoko. This club will push me very well. That’s why I want to come and right my name over here and continue,” he told Ghanasportspage.
Samba O’Neil was voted the Most Valuable Player after helping Kotoko to lift the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup against Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday.
He announced his presence in his debut game for the Porcupine Warriors with a masterclass performance to help his side beat the Rainbows 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
