Ghanaian club Dreams FC has confirmed the transfer of rising star Abdul Aziz Issah to Spanish giants FC Barcelona. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder completed the move on summer transfer deadline day.
In an official statement, Dreams FC announced: “Dreams FC announces the transfer of Abdul Aziz Issah to Spanish giants FC Barcelona. The 18-year-old finalized his move on transfer deadline day.”
Issah will continue his development with Barcelona Athletic, the club’s reserve side. His impressive performances last season in the CAF Confederation Cup and the Ghana Premier League caught the attention of top European and African clubs.
During Dreams FC’s debut campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup, Issah was a standout performer, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 10 matches, becoming joint top-scorer of the tournament.
In the Ghana Premier League, Issah was equally influential, netting seven goals and delivering eight assists in 24 appearances. His contributions extended to the Ghanaian FA Cup, where he scored four goals in five games.
Issah’s stellar performances also earned him a spot on the Ghana U20 team, where he played a crucial role in securing the gold medal at the 2023 African Games. He has previously represented Ghana at U17 and U20 levels and is now a candidate for a debut call-up to the Black Stars.
Issah’s move to Barcelona marks the second transfer of a Ghanaian player to the Spanish club this summer. David Oduro, who joined Barcelona from Accra Lions FC, also signed on transfer deadline day, following a successful two-month trial with the club.
