Former Accra Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nakai Nettey has made a surprise move to Futsal Premier League club Blessed Kickers FC.
The 26-year-old right-back has signed a short-term deal with the Accra-based club and made his debut during week nine of the ongoing Futsal Premier League at the Sprintex Astro Turf this past weekend.
In a post-match interview, Nettey explained that he is currently without a contract and has opted to maintain his fitness by playing in the Futsal League. He also revealed his plans to return to the Ghana Premier League or secure a move abroad during the January transfer window.
Nettey, who played for relegated Accra Great Olympics in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, made an impressive Futsal debut, scoring a stunning goal in Blessed Kickers’ 4-3 victory over Adenta Youth FC on Saturday.
As he eyes a return to top-tier football, Nettey’s performance in the Futsal League is sure to keep him in the spotlight.
