Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi believes his team squandered two crucial points in their Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.
Antwi, who scored the equalizer his first goal since joining the record Ghanaian champions on a free transfer expressed disappointment over the team’s inability to convert scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Speaking to the Asante Kotoko media team, he said, “I think we didn’t take our chances seriously, and we were supposed to bury them. You can play 90 minutes and get only one chance in the game, so when it comes to it, you have to utilize it.
That’s what cost us in the first half; we had a lot of chances we should have put in the back of the net. “Young Apostles took the lead in the 51st minute through Daniel Lomotey, but Antwi equalized with a long-range shot in the 76th minute, leveling the score.
The result leaves Kotoko with four points from their first three matches, as they look to improve their finishing in upcoming games.
