Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and captain, Benjamin Asare, has called on his teammates to maintain their momentum following their first win of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, a 2-0 victory over Bechem United.
The Phobians snapped a two-game losing streak with second-half goals from Ransford Mensah and Hamza Issah at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, easing the pressure on head coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
As Hearts of Oak prepare for their next fixture against Nations FC in Kumasi, Asare encouraged his teammates to set higher standards, emphasizing that at worst, they should settle for a draw in upcoming matches. “Put this in your mind, from today going forward, any game we play, our worst should be a draw,” Asare stated during the team’s post-match celebration.
“We have to concentrate and continue working hard. “The victory also lifted spirits within the team, which narrowly avoided relegation last season after beating Bechem United on the final day.
