Asante Kotoko defender Esmat Abdalhamid Hassabalbagi is set to miss an extended period after undergoing successful foot surgery for an injury he picked up in the club’s last Premier League game against Young Apostles.
The club’s medical team upon arriving in Kumasi conducted further assessments on what initially looked like a minor knock. However, the test results indicated that Esmat, who has been a regular in Ogum’s team for the opening last two games, would require surgery.
The operation was done today, September 27, 2024, under the supervision of expert surgeons at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Sudanese left back is expected to be out of action for a period of six weeks.
Asante Kotoko will face Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League matchweek 4 encounter.
