Former Asante Kotoko defender Maxwell Agyemang has opened up about his deep connection with the club, admitting that he still feels emotionally tied to the Porcupine Warriors despite no longer playing for them.
In a recent interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Agyemang revealed that he misses the club and often feels nostalgic, particularly when Kotoko suffers a defeat.
“Yes, I miss Kotoko. Sometimes, I miss the club, so if I feel sad anytime they lose, but I know it’s a game, that’s how the game is about,” he shared, reflecting on his enduring bond with the team.
Agyemang, who was an integral part of Kotoko’s defense when they won the league trophy in the 2021/22 season, went on to express his unwavering belief in Kotoko’s chances of winning the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League title. Despite the club’s recent challenges, he remains confident that Kotoko will emerge victorious at the end of the season.
“I know for sure that, no matter what, Kotoko will lift up the trophy at the end of the season,” Agyemang boldly stated.
His confidence in Kotoko’s potential is a reflection of his admiration for the club’s strength and resilience.
Following Kotoko’s recent defeat to Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko has dropped to third place in the league standings with 15 points. The team will aim to bounce back in their next match against Bechem United as they look to regain their form in the league.
