Former Tamale City FC forward Sampson Eduku has officially begun training with Asante Kotoko as he looks to secure a move to the Ghanaian giants.
The 28-year-old, who recently ended his spell with Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, is currently a free agent. Eduku made a significant impact in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season with Tamale City, scoring 14 goals and providing 3 assists in 27 matches, earning a move abroad to the Iraqi club in August 2023.
However, after a brief stint in Iraq, Eduku has returned to Ghana and is now eyeing a possible transfer to Asante Kotoko in the upcoming transfer window.
The talented attacker joined the Porcupine Warriors’ training session on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, as he aims to impress the club’s technical staff.
Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, confirmed that the club plans to strengthen their squad during the second transfer window.
“In the second round, we will augment the team in areas where we need to improve. So, definitely, we’ll do that,” Ogum stated.
Eduku will need to prove himself in training to earn a contract with Kotoko, who are looking to bolster their squad as they aim for success in the second half of the season.
