Former King Faisal Football Club boss, Awuni Barnabas has officially being appointed new trainer for Nigerian outfit Sporting Supreme FC, following a successful negotiations.
The Ghanaian trainer landed the coaching job few weeks ago and has arrived in the West African Country, having secured his work and residence permit. The outfit is a Division one side and competes in the Nigeria National League.
The club has several tournaments to participate in, hence has already assigned Coach Awuni, to guide Supreme Sporting FC Youth team to Norway and Sweden for Gothia Cup tournament scheduled next month.
Awuni who has gained experienced working with top clubs and top managers including Nurudeen Amadu in his native country, Ghana, is expected to write his new chapter in another country.
On Monday, the team hierarchy confirmed that visa’s for entire playing body and officials has been granted and getting ready for Norway trip. Coach Awuni Barnabas who has already secured trust from the team following his recent match performance, recording 4 wins from 5 games, is aiming for a successful campaign in all their tournaments.
The mini Tournament in Norway starts July 9th to July 113th then Sweden, July 14th to July 19th, and Norway for Dana CupJuly 21th to July 26th 2025. This mini tournaments is expected to give better preparation to Sporting Supreme FC ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, before the team depart to Norway, Coach Barnabas will be managing their U-18 team which clinched the Abuja Elite League in the Super 8 tournament in Lagos beginning July 1st to July 6th, 2025.
The Ghanaian young gaffer signed a long term contract with the Nigerian club with target of nurturing talents and finishing top four each season.
