Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has issued a press statement following their exit from the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup on Friday. The Reds bowed to the competition after losing home and away to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the second-tier competition of CAF.
Having suffered a 6-1 aggregate scoreline to Wydad, has come out to render an apology to their fan base, asking they unite and continue to support the side in their remaining matches in the domestic league.
In an immediate release dated Saturday, 25th October 2025, reads;
“The result against Wydad Athletic Club was not what we wanted or worked for. The disappointment is shared by every member of the team, management, and our true supporters,” the statement read.
The release, signed by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, reaffirmed the club’s commitment to turning things around, stressing that their belief and focus remain unwavering.
“A setback is a setup for a comeback. We are already focused on the task ahead, and we are committed to turning this around. Our belief has not wavered,” it added.
Asante Kotoko further appealed to their supporters—affectionately known as the Porcupine Warriors—to fill the stands in upcoming fixtures and rally behind the team in unity and pride.
“Your voice is our 12th player, and your presence is our fuel. Let us unite as one force, wear the red colours with pride, and roar the team to victory,” the statement urged.
