Asante Kotoko SC have been handed another injury blow as their defender is sidelined for the rest of the season.
Fans of the Porcupine Warriors will not see their favourite right-back Lord Amoah on the pitch again till end of season following an ACL injury he picked over the week. Lord Amoah suffered a serious injury last Sunday during Kotoko league game at home to Young Apostles.
Kotoko this season have had to deal with series of injuries having more than 15 players sidelined in the course of the campaign and unfortunately another player is sidelined, this time missing rest of 2025/26 season.
The deputy captain of Kotoko was taken off in the 19th minute of their 2-0 away victory at Wenchi over Young Apostles.
The club’s medical staff, on duty based on their experience, arranged for the right back to be taken to Kumasi before full time.
Subsequent IMR scans revealed that Lord had sustained an anterior cruciate and medial meniscus ligament tear, an injury that could sideline him for an extended period.
Lord, who has made 9 goals contributions this season, will undergo surgery in the coming days.
The Ghanaian heavyweight regardless will have to move on to challenge for the league title without Lord Amoah as they currently sit 4th on the log with 39 points, 7 points adrift leaders Medeama FC.
