Asante Kotoko SC has confirmed that youth team head coach Hamza Obeng Mohammed will lead the club in the remainder of the 2025/26 league season.
Last week, Ghanasportspage.com reported that Coach Prince Owusu had left team hotel and abandoned his role at the club, after their heavy 4-0 away defeat to Medeama SC. With Owusu still absconded, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) has asked Hamza Obeng to step in as acting coach.
The Kotoko Youth team coach Hamza Obeng Mohammed will now lead the team in the coming days. The Reds continuous poor performance has left Prince Owusu disturbed as he struggled to found antidote to their woes after the departure of Abdul Karim Zito.
His continuous absence, has seen Hamza Obeng manage the side for daily training and now to coach Kotoko till 2025/26 league season ends.
The former Medeama SC and Hearts of Oak SC assistant gaffer will oversee Kotoko in their next five league matches as acting head coach, source at the club revealed.
