Ghana’s newest head coach Carlos Queiroz during his unveiling at Alisa Hotel in Accra, on Thursday made quiet huge statement saying he’s a topnotch coach and a winning one for that matter.
Ghanaians under the stewardship of Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku have not being happy following several mistakes in appointing a capable trainer for the national team, latest was Otto Addo who failed woefully.
Carlos, who has 40-years experience as a football coach, twice winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup with Portugal hinted that he will bring to bare his expertise and ensure Black Stars excels at the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming up.
“I can promise you that I will bring all my 40 years of my experience to the job. I will give everything for Ghana. After eight national teams and important competitions, this is the biggest challenge of my life and I am ready for that.”
He added that, he is not a defensive manager as many considers his style: “In modern football, there are no defensive or attacking coaches”
“The minimum the Ghana national team expects from me is to win, win win. I’m a winning coach”.
The 73-year old will be leading Ghana to the Mundial having agreed on a short term contract with the Ghana Football Association. He’s task begins immediately as Ghana will be playing Wales and Mexico before the World Cup starts in July.
