Ghana’s Black Princesses have secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Uganda at the FUFA Stadium in Kampala on Saturday afternoon.
The result, combined with a 2-1 victory in the first leg in Accra last week, ensured Ghana advanced comfortably on aggregate.
Uganda made a bright start, taking the lead in the sixth minute to go into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
However, Ghana responded strongly in the second half, with Linda Owusu Ansah finding the equaliser in the 78th minute to restore parity and seal qualification.
The achievement extends Ghana’s remarkable record in youth women’s football, marking an eighth consecutive appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The 2026 edition of the tournament will be staged in Poland later this year.
