Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams has confirmed as the Black Stars head to the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament, Ghana will broadcast it live for viewers.
This comes, following a successful engagement with the government which is backed with nationwide fundraising to support the Black Stars.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the Mundial, with huge expectations especially with the appointment of Portuguese trainer Carlos Queiroz as new head coach.
The Member of Parliament, confirmed the initiative on Tuesday during the presentation of a GH¢5 million donation from GCB Bank to the Black Stars support campaign. He disclosed that the necessary broadcast rights have been secured to ensure matches will be shown on selected media platforms across the country.
“Through the support of government and fundraising efforts, we have been able to secure broadcast rights to telecast the World Cup matches live on some of the media stations”.
The GCB Bank contribution forms part of a broader effort to mobilise financial and corporate support for the national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars is housed in Group L, and will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
