Ghanaian powerhouse, Asante Kotoko SC could not hold their disappointment to themselves than bow to apologize to their fanbase, following an abysmal showoff in the just ended 2025/26 Ghana Premier league.
The Porcupine Warriors who had to employ three different coaches to manage the outfit, failed to finish amongst the top six teams as they placed 8th after losing 2-1 to Swedru All Blacks FC in the final day fixture at home, Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kotoko lost against Bechem United FC 3-1 in week 33 fixture and proceeded to suffer defeat to All Blacks in week 34 fixture in front of their fans.
In a statement released by the Board and Management on Monday, May 25, 2026, the Kumasi-based giants admitted the result fell short of expectations, describing the season as unacceptable for a club of their stature and ambition in Ghanaian football.
The club acknowledged that, despite football’s capacity for recovery and renewal, urgent steps will now be taken to address the shortcomings and rebuild a stronger team capable of competing at the highest level.
Kotoko expressed gratitude to supporters across the country for their unwavering loyalty throughout a difficult season, describing them as the foundation of the club. Management also apologised for the inconsistent performances that left fans frustrated over the course of the campaign.
Looking ahead, the club confirmed plans for a comprehensive restructuring aimed at restoring its domestic dominance and re-establishing its presence on the continental stage.
