The Football Association has confirmed the calendar for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, with the new season set to kick off on the weekend of September 4–7, 2026, and conclude on the weekend of May 28–31, 2027.
The approved schedule reflects the GFA’s continued commitment to aligning Ghana’s domestic football calendar with the FIFA calendar for Member Associations, ensuring timely completion of the league while enhancing planning, competitiveness and operational efficiency.
Following the GFA Congress on August 20, 2026, clubs will have sufficient time to complete their pre-season preparations before the campaign gets underway.
As in the previous season, Premier League fixtures will primarily be played on weekends, with midweek dates reserved exclusively for outstanding matches, ensuring greater fixture stability and improved scheduling throughout the season.
The 2026/27 campaign promises another thrilling chapter in Ghana’s top-flight football as defending champions Medeama SC begin their quest to retain the league title against some of the country’s finest clubs.
The new season will also welcome three ambitious newcomers to the top level of Ghanaian football.
Debibi United, FC AshantiGold 04 and Port City FC earned promotion from the Division One League and will be eager to establish themselves among Ghana football’s top tier.

The GFA remains fully committed to the successful implementation of the 2026/27 football calendar, delivering a well-organised, competitive and exciting season for clubs, players, officials, partners and supporters across the country.
