Former Accra Hearts of Oak Technical Director Renne Hiddink has confirmed that the Ghanaian giants have fully settled the outstanding debt owed to him.
Speaking to Ghana Sports Page, Hiddink revealed that the financial dispute between himself and the Phobians has now been resolved, allowing both parties to move forward.
Hearts of Oak were previously hit with a transfer ban after failing to settle a reported $146,000 debt owed to the Dutch tactician. The sanction prevented the club from registering new players and completing transfers.
However, Hiddink has now confirmed that the debt has been fully paid. The former Hearts of Oak technical director made the disclosure in an interview with Martin Tawiah, popularly known as K-Tee of ghanasportspage.com, on Sunday.
“Hearts of Oak unlawfully terminated my contract two years ago, and that’s why I left the club.“They have now paid the debt they owed me, so both parties can move on because everything has been fully paid and settled. There is no problem anymore.
“I did my job when I was at Hearts of Oak, and they were not complaining about my work. However, I didn’t understand why they decided to terminate my contract. I really don’t know the reason, but we have to move on.
“I was disappointed, but sometimes these things happen in the football world. They have moved on, and I have also moved on.“The only problem we had was financial, but everything was settled a few days ago. Now, it’s over.
”Hiddink’s comments bring an end to the financial dispute between him and Hearts of Oak, with the Dutchman confirming that there are no outstanding issues between the two parties.
