Ghana Premier League record holders Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of former goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad who rejoins the club for the second time in his career.
The 23-year old one time premier league champion returns to his boyhood club for a second spell, following a two-year stint stint with Ethiopian premier league side Coffee Sport Club, where he made about 55 appearances.
Danlad basically started his professional career with Asante Kotoko in 2016 as a youngster, but had to move out on loan spells to gunner some playing time. To stay active at the top level, Danlad joined premeir side Berekum Chelsea for the 2019/2020 league season, and spent the next season at King Faisal FC in the top flight before later moving to the Ethiopian Coffee SC from 2024 to 2026.
Ibrahim Danlad returns to Asante Kotoko with much richer profile, having played for the various national teams of Ghana, from U-17, U-20, U23 and the senior national team, the Black Stars, where he earned Otto Addo’s 2022 World Cup squad call up. Returning with a profile of 28 clean sheets from 55 appearances for Coffee Sports Club in the Ethiopian top flight, Danlad is expected to play a significant role for the Porcupine Warriors as Eric Tinkler’s side looks forward to a premier league title glory in the coming season.
