Communications director for Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has confirmed that there will be no appearance fee for this year’s President’s Cup.
He confirmed while speaking to Accra-based Original FM that the winner of the game will pocket 50,000 Ghana cedis on Sunday.
“There is no appearance fee in this year’s President Cup. We are playing to honour Our motherland and our President but the winner receive 50,000 Ghana cedis.”
The President’s Cup is an annual ceremonial match organised by the GHALCA to honour the sitting President.
Hearts and Kotoko are expected to renew their rivalry for the second time in the ongoing campaign, having played out a 1-1 draw in their first meeting at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Phobians will be looking forward to defend the title despite their current form.
They beat Kotoko 2-1 in their last President’s Cup clash at the Accra Sports Stadium last year to win their seventh title.
The game will be played on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium at exactly 6:00pm.
