Asante Kotoko board spokesperson, Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi has confidently confirmed that the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah will not be sacked.

The Porcupine Warriors board member disclosed in a brief conversation with Ghanasportspage.com after it was reported that the board has summoned the young football administrator to explain why he sacked coach Seydou Zerbo without their knowledge..

However, recent reports from the sports fraternity also suggest the board has voted Nana Yaw Amponsah to continue as the club’s Chief Executive Officer, with six out of seven members backing him to lead the reigning Ghanaian champions.

As reported, a proposal was made by one Asante Kotoko board member to sack Nana Yaw Amponsah as the CEO claiming that he didn’t inform the board before sacking Coach Seydou Zerbo.

The vote of no confidence was passed to the motion and the majority of the board members agreed to let the CEO continue his mandate. There were nine members present at the meeting and two excused themselves from the voting.

Six members out of seven voted for Nana Yaw Amponsah to continue as the CEO and it’s alleged a certain chief on the board was the one pushing for that agenda.

Responding to the news, the board member said: “Whatever it is, Nana Yaw Amponsah will not be sacked now. We will not sack him. Although I cannot disclose what the board discussed I can confidently confirm that he will not be sacked. For him to be sacked or continue after his term I will say we will cross the bridge when we get there,” Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi told Ghanasportspage.com.

Nana Yaw Amponsah was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko SC in August 2020.

The young football administrator has worked with four different coaches, [Maxwell Konadu, Mariano Barreto, Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Seydou Zerbo] since his arrival.

The Porcupine Warriors have won one Premier League under Nana Yaw Amponsah’s administration.

Currently, they rank fifth in the BetPawa Premier League after 24 games with a game in hand.
