A large number of stakeholders are up in arms against the President of the Ghana Table Tennis Federation, Mawuko Afadzino, claiming his dictatorship and unlawful governing of the once powerful sport is retarding progress and disrupting the front of its members.
There have been agitations from various stakeholders of table tennis including players especially, coaches, and administrators and they claim the attitude and continuous illegal holding of power by Mawuko has even angered some sponsors and other donors thus the game is not developing while others are leaving table tennis.
It is their word that against the constitution of the association, Mawuko has been in office for two full terms and should leave while the election is organized. Elections should have been done last month but he has refused to organize elections, choosing December instead as he tries to manipulate the system to stay in power.
Below is a copy of the petition cited by this website containing allegations by the group against the administration of Mawuko Afadzino. Efforts are still being made by the website to get to Mawuko for his side of the story.
Mawuko is also being accused of victimizing whoever tries to challenge his authority and trying to surround himself with people who do not represent the interests of the association.
Various stakeholders have therefore petitioned the National Sports Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to intervene and save table tennis from dying.
The following stakeholders have agreed and signed. Check out their names, Cell Phone Numbers:
