The Ghana Football Association, through its president Kurt Okraku, has made drastic appointments to the Communications department with the inclusion of three persons to the department.
In a Move described by Sources close to the GFA as a Singular action from Kurt Okraku without recourse to the Executive Council, Mr Neil Armstrong Mortagbe has been appointed as the Head of Public Relations and Strategic Planning for the GFA.
Mr Kurt Okraku, in a memo to staff members of the Communication department, also announced the appointment of Patrick Akoto and Abdul Kadri Sienu as Deputy Communication Director and Monitoring and evaluation respectively.
The appointment of Neil Armstrong Mortagbe is believed to be a move to force Henry Asante Twum to resign from his position as Head of the Department.
The new appointments also did not state the new role of William Bossman, a long-time serving member of the Communication department who was seen as the deputy to Henry Asante Twum
Patrick Akoto is an experienced communication specialist is currently Head of Communications at the Ghana League Clubs Association and Medeama SC. He was recently appointed Chairman of the Ghana Has Talent Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
Abdul Kadri Sienu has been involved in Sports Journalism and Football administration for well over 10 years and is known for his impeccable stance in defending activities of the Football Association.
The new appointment of Neil Armstrong Mortagbe overshadows that of Henry Asante Twum’s position as Director of Communication, a position He’s headed since Kurt Okraku assumed office as GFA President.
