Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of striker, Obdoelkarem Obdelrahman from Sudanese Premier League side Hay Alwadi Nyala.
Obdelrahman joins the Porcupine Warriors on a season-long loan deal.
The 1-year-old is scheduled to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, to undergo a mandatory medical examination and to begin life at the Kumasi-based club.
The youngster is joining Asante Kotoko upon the recommendation of Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah, who doubles as the technical director of Asante Kotoko.
Obdoelkarem Obdelrahman is rated as one of the most talented U23 strikers in Sudanese football and rose through the ranks of AlWadi.
The addition of Obdoelkarem is a significant step in Kotoko’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their team after a period of substantial squad changes.
The Porcupine Warriors recently offloaded 21 players in a bid to rejuvenate their squad following a sixth-place finish in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The signing of the Sudanese aligns with Kotoko’s strategy of incorporating experienced international players into their lineup.
He joins his compatriot, Esmat Abdulhamid Mohammed who joined from Al Hilal on loan.
