Asante Kotoko has demolished lower-tier side, Kumasi Cornerstones FC in a low profile friendly at the Adako Jachie training grounds.
The training forms part of the club’s preparation ahead of Friday’s Democracy Cup game against Hearts of Oak in Accra.
The two most successful clubs in the country will lock horns in the inaugural Democracy Cup being organised by Parliament.
The game, supervised by assistant coach, David Ocloo saw the Porcupines putting five past Cornerstones FC earlier this morning.
Justice Blay opened the scoring before Bernard Somuah added a brace. Baba Yahaya and junior team player, Jordan Amissah added the rest of the goals to give the Porcupines a convincing 5-0 victory.
The Democracy Cup match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm.
Both clubs will be aiming for a win to not only lift the virgin trophy but the sake of the bragging rights.
