CAF Confederation Cup: Wydad Casablanca 5-1 Asante Kotoko SC, as it happened
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter
Asante Kotoko SC got annihilated 5-1 on Friday night in their second leg game against Wydad Casablanca in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

Wydad Athletic Club broke the deadlock in just less than a minute from kickoff courtesy Hamza Hannouri who headed into the net a close range from a teasing cross from the left flanks.

Asante Kotoko came so close to levelling the score after Acquah Amidu was served with a big chance just at the edge of the box but blasted wide for a goal kick.

In the 18th minute, the Porcupine Warriors equalized through captain Samba O’Neil who jumped to connect with a towering header from Lord Amoah’s cross.

Stephanie Aziz Ki then struck from close range subsequently to restore the lead for Wydad Athletic Club as it finished 2-1 before break.

Nine minutes into the second half, Thembikosi Lorch won himself a penalty after running into goalkeeper Aziz Haruna Dari. He elected himself for the kick and did a beautiful panenka to extend the lead.

In the last five minutes plus additional time, the Red Castles continued with the riots producing two more goals through Oussama Zemraoui and Mohammed Bouchouari to seal the win with encounter ending 5-1 at the Mohammed V stadium but 6-1 on aggregate having won 1-0 from the first leg.
