Former Boack Stars defender and first assistant coach, John Paintsil has reportedly been sacked while second assistant Desmond Offei retain his position as the Ghana Football Association(GFA) continues its overhaul after the dismissal of head coach Otto Addo.
The technical structure for the Black Stars, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been finalized, with experienced Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz set to lead the dugout.
According to renowned journalist, Rahman Osman, Queiroz will be supported by fellow Portuguese coach Roger De Sa, who has been appointed assistant coach. De Sa is expected to play a key role in tactical planning and match-day execution.
Current assistant Desmond Offei retains his position as second assistant coach, ensuring continuity within the setup. Offei’s familiarity with the playing body is seen as a crucial asset as the team builds toward the tournament.
In the goalkeeping department, Daniel Gaspar has been named goalkeepers’ coach, with former Black Stars shot-stopper Fatau Dauda serving as second assistant goalkeepers’ coach.
The backroom staff will also include three video analysts—two of whom previously worked under former head coach Otto Addo—alongside a dedicated physical trainer tasked with optimizing player fitness and conditioning.
The composition of the technical team signals a blend of international expertise and local knowledge, as Ghana aims to make a strong impression on the global stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
An official announcement from the Ghana Football Association is expected in the coming days.
