Ghana’s U-17 male team having failed to secure automatic qualification to Qatar 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup would have to play in the playoff.
Despite beating South Africa 3-1 on Wednesday night with captain of the side leading by example with a brace still could not finish second in Group D, placing 3rd behind Senegal and Algeria. The Black Starlets after amassing four points, had to be drawn with Algeria who had same number of points and goals, to determine a second place spot.
With the draw made for four teams, Ghana takes on Uganda in the playoff on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
