Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has delivered an emotional message of encouragement to the Black Stars ahead of their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama.
Addressing the players before their tournament opener, the Vice President urged the team to carry the hopes of the nation with pride and determination as they prepare to represent Ghana on football’s biggest stage.
“Every mother wants her child to be the best, so we are here to encourage you. All 30 million Ghanaians believe you will succeed. Don’t let us down.”
Her heartfelt words underscored the immense support behind the national team as they get set to begin their campaign against Panama in Canada.
The Black Stars head into the tournament carrying the expectations of millions of Ghanaians, with hopes high that Carlos Queiroz’s side can make a strong impression and progress beyond the group stage.
