Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz could the strongest starting lineup from his available squad for Ghana’s opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama.
With Thomas Partey unavailable following his Canadian visa setback, Queiroz could entrusted the midfield to the youthful duo of Caleb Yirenkyi and Kwesi Sibo, while captain Jordan Ayew leads the attack.
Lawrence Ari-Zigi retains his place in goal after a good performance against Wales. He could start behind a back four comprising Gideon Mensah, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku and Marvin Senaya.
In midfield, Yirenkyi and Sibo will be tasked with controlling proceedings, with Jordan Ayew operating in an advanced role behind the front three–Fatawu Issahaku, Prince Adu Kwabena and Antoine Semenyo.
The match marks Ghana’s first outing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Black Stars seeking a positive start to their campaign despite the absence of key midfielder Thomas Partey. All eyes will be on Queiroz’s youthful side as they look to secure a crucial result against Panama.
Kickoff is set at 11:00 PM Ghana time.
