The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has confirmed that there will be a top-four tournament before the start of the 2026/27 football season.
According to GHALCA Administrative Manager, Oduro Nyarko this year’s tournament will feature only the teams that finished in the top four of 2025-26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
As a result, league champions Medeama Sporting Club will compete with Bibiani Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC. Asante Kotoko won’t be part of this year’s competition because they finished 8th on the league log.
“Participation will be limited to the clubs that finished first to fourth in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League. “As a result, Nations FC, despite qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup, will not take part because they did not finish in the league’s top four,” Nana Oduro Nyarko clarified in an interview with Akoma FM.
The GHALCA top four tournament over the years has served as an important platform for clubs to prepare adequately for the new football season.
