Medeama Sporting Club president Moses Armah has disclosed that the club explored the possibility of signing Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi but could not reach an agreement.
According to Parker, Medeama contacted the player’s camp over a potential transfer, but the financial demands made it difficult to complete the deal. The asking price was beyond the club’s budget, forcing them to explore other options.
Agbasi has been a key player for Hearts of Oak, establishing himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Ghana Premier League.
His performances have attracted interest from several clubs, including Medeama, which was keen to bring him to Tarkwa.
However, the financial terms proved to be a stumbling block, with Medeama unable to meet the demands.
Despite missing out on Agbasi, Parker stressed that Medeama remains active in the transfer market and will continue to assess opportunities as they work to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
The club’s focus remains on building a competitive team capable of defending their Ghana Premier League title and competing in the CAF Champions League.
Medeama have already brought in Sudanese goalkeeper Monged Salman to provide competition for Felix Kyei, indicating the club’s determination to strengthen the goalkeeping department.
